Cybersecurity Specialist

Role Overview: Equity Bank is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our security operations center. You will be responsible for monitoring our digital banking systems for threats, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing security controls to protect our customers' assets. Responsibilities: - Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents in real-time. - Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability scans. - Implement and manage security tools like WAF, IDS/IPS, and SIEM. - Develop and maintain security policies and procedures. - Conduct security awareness training for employees. - Collaborate with developers to ensure secure coding practices. - Ensure compliance with local and international security standards. Requirements: - 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity. - Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles. - Experience with security tools like Kali Linux, Metasploit, or Nessus. - Solid knowledge of web and mobile security best practices. - Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH). Nice-to-haves: - Experience with cloud security in AWS or Azure. - Basic knowledge of Python for security automation. - Previous experience in the financial sector.
