Security operations rely heavily on physical logbooks and guard-to-resident gate intercoms, causing significant vehicular tailbacks during peak hours and heightening security vulnerabilities. Simultaneously, private estate utility distribution—principally water networks—depends on physical meter reading, manual invoice generation, and disconnected bank/M-Pesa payment tracking, which frequently triggers billing transparency disputes and delays cash flow. Furthermore, official communications from management committees are easily drowned out within unmoderated resident WhatsApp groups. Nyumbani Connect resolves these inefficiencies by consolidating estate security, utility tracking, billing, and community relations into an integrated, secure mobile and web ecosystem designed for the modern Kenyan context. Objectives: - Establish a secure, high-speed digital clearance system that reduces visitor gate-check time by over 70% using SMS OTPs, secure QR codes, and real-time app notifications. - Automate estate water utility billing through an end-to-end digital tracker, integrating Safaricom's Daraja M-Pesa API for seamless STK push payments and instant payment reconciliation. - Provide an official, structured broadcasting channel for verified estate announcements and an end-to-end trackable maintenance ticketing system. - Empower estate administrators with a consolidated analytics dashboard for financial reporting, estate registry management, and utility performance monitoring. Scope of Work: - Resident Mobile Application (iOS/Android): Crafted in React Native, supporting secure OTP login, QR-code generator for visitor clearance, push notifications, utility invoice history, and M-Pesa STK push checkout. - Guard Gate Portal: A lightweight, responsive, tablet-optimized web application for rapid household directories, visitor validation, and push-alert dispatching to hosts. - Admin Web Management System: A multi-tenant dashboard incorporating a resident master database, automated water utility tariff and billing engine, broadcast engine, and ticketing console. - Backend API Service & Database Infrastructure: A production-ready Node.js/PostgreSQL RESTful API with automated database migrations, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) integration, and secure webhook endpoints for M-Pesa transactions.
